Megan Storie is a local singer-songwriter who has lived in Denton for about 12 years. Storie performed inside Denton's Courthouse on the Square Wednesday as part of Make Music Day, a free event that celebrates the joy of making music.
Make Music Day is an international celebration of music, that's been playing since 1982. More than 1,000 cities in 120 countries around the world participate, Denton included.
We caught up with Storie after her set:
Q: What’s your favorite thing about Denton’s music scene?
A: I love the community. Everybody is super supportive of one another. I have dear friends here that I’ve been playing music with for over a decade now. It’s such a nice family in this city.
Q: You are part of today’s Make Music Day celebration in Denton. Why did you want to be involved in the event?
A: Matthew Long, who curates [at the courthouse] and helped organize this asked me to play — he's been a good friend of mine for a long time. I just love to support this community and thought it would be a great event to be a part of.
