A quiet storm season

North Texas is rapidly moving out of the spring severe weather season. April and May are usually the most active tornado months. By all accounts, the storm season was quieter than normal in our area. Through June 1, there had been 14 tornadoes reported across North Texas and parts of Central Texas. The normal for an entire year is 27, so additional tornadoes are possible. Nationally, the tornado count is below normal. Through May there have been 790 tornadoes, compared to 1,148 last year.
