Ms. Amy Kathryn Dodd, of Krum,and Mr. Cody Nathaniel Bone, of Rowlett and San Antonio,were joined in marriage, Saturday, May 30 at Highland Baptist Church in Denton, the same church Katy’s parents were married in 32 years ago.
Ms. Amy Kathryn Dodd, of Krum,and Mr. Cody Nathaniel Bone, of Rowlett and San Antonio,were joined in marriage, Saturday, May 30 at Highland Baptist Church in Denton, the same church Katy’s parents were married in 32 years ago. Patrick Hundl, a missionary at the University of Texas San Antonio, presided over the ceremony. The couple celebrated their nuptials with a reception of dinner and dancing in the grand ballroom of the Holiday Inn & Suites in Denton.
Parents of the bride are Ken and Kay Dodd of Krum, TX. Her grandparents are Denney & Susan Dodd of Krum, Ed & Pat Watson of Portales, New Mexico, and the late Jean Watson of Krum. Katy’s great-grandmother was Blanche Dodd also of Krum. Katy has lived in Krum her entire life just as her Dad and paternal grandparents. She graduated from Krum High School in 2010, and she received her communications degree from Tarleton State University in Stephenville 3 weeks before her wedding.
 The groom’s parents are Mark Thacker of Rowlett, Texas, Yvette McNiel Thacker of Bloomberg, Texas, and Chris Bone of Husser, LA. Cody is the grandson of Mike & Amy Bone of Highland Village, Texas,Mara Bone of Clyde, NC,Jerry & Nancy Thacker, and Marlys Thacker all of Dallas, James and Ann McNiel of Marshall, Texas, and Yolanda Dillard of San Antonio. Cody grew up in Rowlett and is currently attending the University of Texas San Antonio where he is majoring in chemistry. Upon graduation, he will begin studying to become a Physician’s Assistant.
Maid of Honor was Kelly Dodd, proud sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Hailey Thompson, college bff and roommate from Tarleton, Rachel Vasquez, Chloe Dodd, sister-in-law of the bride, Allie Schmaltz, and Jenna Reneau, all childhood best friends and teammates from Krum, as well as Stephanie Hanson, Terra Leatherland and Cambria Dotson, San Antonio college friends of both bride and groom. Serving as house attendants who were definitely on top of their game were Krysta Kelley, Chainey Holley, Sarah Nelson, Miranda Moffett, and Quinton Weidner. Lastly, but perhaps most importantly, hair and makeup duties fell to Jennifer Sims & Chainey Holley who worked like pros!
Best man was Nick Hanson, best friend and college roommate. Groomsmen were Matthew Thacker, Hunter Bone and Dusty Sebren, all brothers of the groom, as well as Sam Frase, Ryan Marino, Adam Goodenough, Jonathan Mason and Jeremiah Robinson, all college roommates and brothers in Christ. Serving as ushers were Klay Dodd and Kooper Dodd, brothers of the bride.
Katy and Cody met during the summer of 2013 at Camp Cho-Yeh in Livingston, Texas where Cody was on the leadership team, and Katy was a camp counselor to youth of all ages and backgrounds.
After honeymooning in Big Sur, Carmel, Monterrey and San Francisco, CA, the newlyweds will reside in San Antonio.
