A 21-year-old man was arrested on a theft charge after allegedly placing merchandise into his backpack and attempting to steal a baby stroller, according to a Denton police report.
At about 1:36 p.m. Saturday, officers were dispatched for a theft call at Walmart in the 1500 block of South Loop 288. An employee said they observed a man placing items in a backpack and taking a baby stroller without paying.
The man was with a woman and an infant during the incident. The report says the woman was not arrested since she did not conceal any items and told police she was unaware the man was stealing them.
The report says video surveillance showed only the man attempting to steal the items.
The total value of the merchandise was about $188. The man was charged with theft.

Police suspected possible intoxication and initiated a traffic stop. The driver was unable to tell officers where he was. He told police he had consumed some alcoholic beverages before driving.
Officers administered a standardized field sobriety test that indicated intoxication, and the man consented to a blood draw. Police searched his vehicle and located a bottle of tequila that was half full.
The man was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated with an open alcohol container.
500 block of South Carroll Boulevard — A man told police someone tore off his vehicle’s windshield trim, according to a police report.
At about 3:58 p.m. Saturday, the man told officers he parked his vehicle outside of this apartment complex at about 2 p.m. and noticed that the windshield trim had been torn off from his vehicle.
It’s unknown whether there is camera footage of the incident, but security cameras are in the area. The estimated cost to repair the vehicle is around $200. The incident is under investigation.
